DCHC celebrates its entry into the list of the top 100 container terminals in the world for the year 2024 and honors the Executive Managing Director during the celebration of World Maritime Day
As part of its active participation in both local and international events, DCHC ( Damietta Container & Cargo Handling Co. ) participated in the major celebration organized by the Maritime Transport Sector on the occasion of World Maritime Day 2024 under the title (Navigation in the seas of the future... Safety First), which was held at Helnan Palestine Hotel in Montazah – Alexandria. This was honored by His Excellency Lieutenant General / Kamel Al-Wazir - Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, and a group of senior officials in Alexandria, the Maritime Transport Sector in general, the maritime community, members of the diplomatic and consular corps and members of the House of Representatives in Alexandria.
The ceremony witnessed DCHC ( Damietta Container & Cargo Handling Co. ) receiving an award for entering the list of the top 100 container terminals in the world for the year 2024 for the first time in its history, according to a classification issued by Lloyd's List. During the ceremony, Admiral Dr. Rafik Galal - Executive Managing Director of the company, was honored by His Excellency Lieutenant General Kamel Al-Wazir, Minister of Transport and Industry and Deputy Prime Minister, in recognition of his outstanding efforts in leading the company towards this important achievement.
Admiral Dr. Rafiq Galal received the award from His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Transport, expressing his pride in the success achieved by the company. He explained that this honor comes as a result of the great developments witnessed by the terminal in recent years and in accordance with the directives of His Excellency the Lieutenant General and Minister of Transport, where infrastructure was improved and logistics services were developed, in addition to an attractive marketing policy that led to an increase in container traffic and attracting more global shipping lines.
The Executive Managing Director extended his sincere thanks to all colleagues and partners for their dedication, as well as to global shipping lines, logistics, and engineering companies for their trust and collaboration. He underscored that these achievements affirm the company's commitment to delivering integrated services that meet customer expectations. Furthermore, he emphasized DCHC’s continuous efforts to align with the vision of Egypt’s political leadership and the Ministry of Transport’s strategy to position the country as a global and regional hub for maritime transport, logistics, and transit trade.
