High-Level Delegation from CMA CGM Shipping Line Visits Damietta Container & Cargo Handling Company to Strengthen Cooperation
On Monday, November 4, 2024, DCHC (Damietta Container & Cargo Handling Co.) received a high-level delegation from the French shipping line CMA CGM, one of the world’s largest shipping lines, in a visit aimed at strengthening cooperation. This visit aligns with the directives of His Excellency General Kamel Al-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, aimed at developing national container terminals and increasing market share through intensive marketing efforts, in accordance with the political leadership's vision to establish Egypt as a global center for trade and logistics.
The delegation included Mr. Amin CHAIBAN - Regional Head of Procurement, Cpt. Ahmed HUSSEIN - Operations &Logistics Director Egypt & Sudan, Mr. Amr ELSHAFIE - Operations Manager Egypt & Sudan, Mr. Mohamed SAAD - ILS Senior Manager, Mr. Mohamed ABBAS - Damietta branch manager and Mr. Abdel Moneim SABRY - Damietta Port Operations Section Head. They were welcomed by Admiral Dr. Rafik Galal - Executive Managing Director of DCHC (Damietta Container & Cargo Handling Co.), who welcomed the delegation and reaffirmed his full support for all shipping lines, including CMA CGM. The company’s capabilities and recent development plans were reviewed, including the addition of new berths and storage areas as well as the implementation of advanced technologies to improve operational efficiency. The delegation expressed admiration for the recent advancements and the terminal’s ability to accommodate and operate CMA CGM’s ships, especially the larger vessels, with an eagerness to enhance future cooperation.
Executive Managing Director of DCHC (Damietta Container & Cargo Handling Co.) emphasized the terminal’s continued investment in offering high-quality services to global shipping lines, in addition to supporting Egyptian exporters and importers. He also reiterated the commitment to working diligently to achieve further progress and to strengthen Egypt’s position as a global and regional hub for maritime transport, logistics, and transit trade, particularly in light of regional and global economic and geopolitical challenges.
