Damietta Container Handling Company Welcomes ONE Shipping Line Delegation and Announces New Services to Strengthen the Egyptian Market A New Step Towards Leadership: Damietta Container Handling Company Launches LEX and AD1 Services in Partnership with ONE Shipping Line As part of its commitment to the Egyptian state's vision of positioning Egypt as a hub for logistics and maritime transport, and in alignment with the directives of His Excellency Lieutenant General Kamel El-Wazir - Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, to take all necessary measures to enhance operations at national container terminals and intensify marketing efforts to attract new clients and expand market share, DCHC (Damietta Container & Cargo Handling Co.) hosted a high-level delegation from Ocean Network Express (ONE) on Wednesday, November 27, 2024. The delegation included Mr. Swan Pillay - General Manager of ONE in Egypt, and Mr. Mohamed Sultan - Head of Operations in Egypt, Damietta Branch. The delegation was received by Admiral Dr. Rafik Galal - Executive Managing Director of DCHC (Damietta Container & Cargo Handling Co.) It is noteworthy that ONE Shipping Line is one of the most significant clients of the company. The Executive Managing Director announced that as a result of extensive communications, discussions, and marketing efforts with ONE Shipping Line, two new services will begin operations at Damietta Container Terminal: LEX and AD1. These services will operate regularly between Northern Europe and the Mediterranean, passing through Damietta. The service details are as follows: • LEX Service: Connecting Hamburg (Germany), Rotterdam (Netherlands), Antwerp (Belgium), London Gateway (UK), Damietta Container Terminal (Egypt), Alexandria Port (Egypt), and Mersin (Turkey). • AD1 Service: Connecting Koper (Slovenia), Venice (Italy), Piraeus and Thessaloniki (Greece), Damietta Container Terminal (Egypt), and Alexandria Port (Egypt). The new services (LEX and AD1) will call at Damietta Container Terminal with a weekly frequency starting January next year. This marks the beginning of future cooperation with ONE Line at Damietta Container Terminal, ensuring the delivery of top-tier services and paving the way for enhanced collaboration in the coming years. These developments reaffirm Damietta Container Handling Company's ambition to become one of the best container terminals in the Mediterranean, in line with the political leadership's vision and the Ministry of Transport's strategy to establish Egypt as a global and regional hub for maritime transport, logistics, and transit trade.
