DCHC Welcomes a Delegation from ONE Shipping Line and Announces New Services to Boost the Egyptian Market
As part of its commitment to the Egyptian state’s vision of positioning Egypt as a distinguished regional hub for logistics, maritime transport, and transit trade, and in line with the directives of H.E. Lieutenant General Kamel El-Wazir - Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development, Minister of Industry and Transport, to take all necessary measures to develop operations at national container terminals and intensify marketing efforts to attract new clients and increase Damietta Container Terminal’s market share, DCHC (Damietta Container & Cargo Handling Co.) welcomed a high-level delegation from Ocean Network Express (ONE) on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, Ocean Network Express (ONE) is among the top 10 global shipping lines.
The delegation included Mr. Takahiro Kikuchi - Chairman and Regional Director for Europe and Africa of Ocean Network Express (ONE), making his first visit to DCHC (Damietta Container & Cargo Handling Co.), along with Mr. Swan Pillay - General Manager of ONE in Egypt, and Mr. Mohamed Sultan - Operations Head in Egypt.
The delegation was received by Admiral Dr. Rafik Galal - CEO of DCHC (Damietta Container & Cargo Handling Co.). It is worth mentioning that Ocean Network Express (ONE) is one of the key clients of Damietta Container Terminal and a member of THE Alliance, the largest alliance at the terminal in terms of volume. Additionally, ONE is a member of the newly formed Premier Alliances, which includes the shipping lines ONE, HMM, and Yang Ming.
Dr. Rafik Galal stated that as a result of the extensive communications, discussions, and marketing efforts with Ocean Network Express (ONE), two new services—LEX and AD1—will now operate at Damietta Container Terminal. These services will regularly connect Northern Europe and the Mediterranean, with Damietta as a key port of call. The agreement ensures the highest service standards at the terminal and paves the way for future cooperation across various fields, aligning with the leadership’s vision to establish Egypt as a regional and global hub for maritime transport, logistics, and transit trade.
