A High-Level Delegation from WAN HAI LINES Visits DCHC
On Wednesday, May 22, 2025, DCHC (Damietta Container & Cargo Handling Co.) received a high-level delegation from WAN HAI LINES LTD, as part of efforts to explore future cooperation opportunities and gain insight into the terminal’s capabilities and ongoing development projects.
The delegation included representatives from the shipping line’s regional office in China:
• Mr. Johnny Huang – Planning Department
• Ms. Vicky Yuan – Terminal Department
• Ms. Sophia Huang – Operations Department
They were accompanied by representatives from the shipping agent, Gulf Agency Company (Egypt) Ltd.:
• Mr. Karim Moussa – Deputy General Manager
• Mr. Tarek El-Zallaky – Branch Manager, Damietta
The delegation was welcomed by Admiral Dr. Rafiq Galal – CEO and Managing Director of Damietta Container & Cargo Handling Company.
The visit included a comprehensive presentation outlining the company’s operational strengths and current development plans, including:
• The addition of new berths to increase handling capacity
• Expansion of storage areas, including a shared car storage facility and a dedicated refrigerated cargo yard
• Implementation of new electronic gates integrated with the global NAVIS N4 terminal operating system
• Establishment of a new export packing yard covering a total area of 13,200 m²
The delegation also conducted an extensive site tour of the terminal’s berths and yards. They expressed their admiration for the high service standards and operational efficiency and affirmed their full confidence in the terminal’s ability to handle WAN HAI LINES vessels in the near future.
At the conclusion of the visit, the CEO expressed his warm welcome to the delegation and affirmed the company’s commitment to supporting all global shipping lines, including WAN HAI LINES. He emphasized that the terminal continues to implement its ambitious investment plans to provide world-class services to all shipping partners and the Egyptian export-import community.
This visit aligns with the directives of H.E. Lieutenant General Eng. Kamel El-Wazir – Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport – to enhance the performance of national container terminals. It also supports the strategic marketing efforts to attract new clients and increase Damietta’s market share, in line with Egypt’s national vision to become a global hub for trade, logistics, and maritime transport.
