𝗗𝗖𝗛𝗖 (Damietta Container & Cargo Handling Co.) received on Wednesday 20-12-2023 a delegation from the shipping line Ocean Network Express ONE, which is one of the largest container shipping operators in the world, and the delegation included Mr. Sawan Pillai - General Manager of the shipping line in Egypt, Mr. Mohamed Sultan - Head of Operations in Egypt, Damietta Branch. They were received by 𝗔𝗱𝗺𝗶𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗿. 𝗥𝗮𝗳𝗶𝗸 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗹 - Executive Managing Director of 𝗗𝗖𝗛𝗖 (Damietta Container & Cargo Handling Co.), and it is worth noting that the shipping line ONE is one of the most important customers of the terminal in addition to being a member of the THE Alliance, which is the largest alliances in the terminal in terms of the volume of dealing, and he explained that the purpose of the visit is to review the current situation and the future of joint cooperation and the possibility of receiving new services, including the (AIB) service, which began dealing with the terminal. Which connects Damietta with the ports of the Adriatic Sea, as well as other services linking West India with North America through Damietta and more than one service during the first half of 2024, As well as identifying aspects of development in the company and the projects that have been implemented recently, and increasing the capacity of reefers plugs, as well as developing equipment in the future, so that the Damietta Container Terminal is able to discharge and loading of containers quickly and efficiently, which increases the confidence of global shipping lines, and this comes in implementation of the plan of the Ministry of Transport to develop all Egyptian ports and container terminals and in line with the directives of the political leadership to make Egypt a global center for trade, logistics and transport Multimodal. For his part, Mr. Sawan Pillai announced that Damietta Container Terminal is the largest partner of the ONE shipping line between Mediterranean ports and that the line continues to cooperate with Damietta Container Handling Company and hopes to work to increase cooperation during the coming period, due to DCHC's modern giant berth cranes (STS) and a skilled workforce capable of discharge and loading of container ships quickly, efficiently and professionally.
