DCHC succeeds in attracting the GFS shipping line owned by Abu Dhabi Ports Group ||Feb 2024


DCHC (Damietta Container & Cargo Handling Co.) has succeeded in attracting the GFS shipping line, owned by Abu Dhabi Ports Group, where the ships of the shipping line begin to call Damietta Container Terminal with a regular weekly service every 7 days starting in February 2024. Where Admiral Dr. Rafik Galal - Executive Managing Director of DCHC (Damietta Container & Cargo Handling Co.) received a high-level delegation from the Shipping Agent SAFINA Company for Abu Dhabi Ports Group in the Arab Republic of Egypt and a representative of the Shipping Line GFS, and the delegation included Capt. Suhail Mukadam - Vice President of the shipping line GFS, Mr. Mohammed Wessam - General Manager of the shipping line in Egypt and Mr. Magdy Mostafa - Director of Operation, and the two parties agreed to start calling of the shipping line ships at the Damietta Container Terminal starting from February 2024, in order to transfer containers for more than one shipping line between ports in the Mediterranean Sea, and it was agreed on the work system to ensure the best service at the terminal and open the way for future cooperation. This comes In implementation of the directives of His Lieutenant- General. Eng. Kamel Al-Wazir - Minister of Transport, to take all necessary procedures and measures to develop work at the national container terminals, as well as the instructions of HCMLT (Holding Company for Maritime and Land Transport) to intensify marketing efforts with the aim of attracting new customers and increasing the market share of the container terminal, in line with the policy of the Egyptian state to make Egypt a global logistics center.
