Cooperation Protocol between Damietta Container & Cargo Handling Company and Transport Works Company ||May 2024


In reference to the directives of His Excellency Lieutenant General Eng. Kamel Al-Wazir - Minister of Transport to take all necessary measures to develop work in national container terminals, as well as his directives regarding maximizing the partnership between companies affiliated with the Ministry of Transport, which is in the interest of the national economy, a cooperation protocol was signed between Damietta Container and Cargo Handling Company and the Transport Works Company on Thursday, 23/5/2024. Admiral Dr. Rafik Galal - Executive Managing Director of Damietta Container and Cargo Handling Company stated that the Transport Works Company (a sister company) is a subsidiary of the Holding Company for Maritime and Land Transport and that it has been agreed with Admiral Mohamed El-Sayed Ghaly - Chairman and Managing Director of the Transport Works Company to use heavy transport vehicles in order to provide container transport service for the mutual benefit between the two companies, thus bringing the number of tractors fleet at the container terminal to the global average. To be 80 port tractors, which helps to enhance productivity and raise performance rates in order to have parity between yard and pier equipment and the management of the work system in the company in an integrated manner, and this comes in implementation of the directives of His Excellency Lieutenant General Engineer / Kamel Al-Wazir - Minister of Transport and in line with the directives of the political leadership to make Egypt a regional center for transit trade, logistics and maritime transport.
